UX DESIGNER: IN THE USER'S SHOES
The final purpose is to make a website easy to use and, above all, efficient and user-friendly.
THE UX DESIGNER'S MISSIONS & PROFESSION
Giving birth to functional and intuitive websites, this is the UX designer's field, and his / her main mission is to optimise a brand's online platform (website, mobile application...). He / she focuses primarily on the users' needs in order to make their experience and browsing as pleasant and practical as possible.
In short, he / she organises the graphic and text elements so that the website is attractive, easy to explore and emotionally appealing to the user. He / she gives life to the interface, creates logical links between the different pages and imagines the possible navigation of users.
The UX Designer imagines and designs solutions taking into account his client's financial purposes, and in accordance with the users' needs. His / her role is therefore strategic.
He / she enters the scene by adapting the look and design of a digital project, centering it on the target user identified in the marketing study established beforehand. Sketches, wireframes, interface mockups, formalisation of interactions, definition of the final projects' ergonomics, these are the steps of his / her mission.
REQUIRED QUALITIES & SKILLS
The UX Designer must display skills in analysis and synthesis, abstraction, adaptation (to the evolution of technologies) and formalisation.
The UX Designer is capable of managing projects and leading a team, often made up of developers and UI designers, in charge of the user interface.
In order to become a UX Designer, it is necessary to be creative, to have an artistic touch and rely on technical knowledge to be able to create a functional interface that respects the graphic codes and is pleasant for the user.
He / she works a bit like an ergonomist but in the world of web interfaces. Overall, he / she masters computer architecture and interaction design, knows about marketing and digital communication strategy, has a good sense of listening, analysis and observation, and is comfortable with relationships.
