THE MISSIONS OF THE TECHNICAL OPERATOR
The shooting operator must know the different kinds of cameras, settings, lenses.
The operator is able to use simple or complex lighting in order to correct existing indoor or outdoor light conditions (corrections, filtering, spot lighting) according to the means available.
REQUIRED QUALITIES / SKILLS
Mobility, concentration and efficiency are valuable qualities. You also need to be quick and responsive. In addition to technical knowledge, a good physical strength is also essential. The equipment is sometimes heavy. A good sense of communication is also a good asset when it comes to working in a small or large team.
The shooting operator collaborates with the director of photography, the production, the engineer, the machinist and the lighting designer. Shooting activities can involve travel in France and abroad, which requires great availability and mobility.
As both a technician and a photographic artist, he / she practices his / her profession in very different contexts, depending on the nature of each project. He / she is responsible for the quality of the images
