Doris
Carrascosa
Artist Designer
PROMO 2014.Toulouse
As a child, Doris Carrascosa became passionate about video games and very quickly knew that she wanted to make a career out of it.
After a MANAA (Preparatory year in Applied Arts) at ESMA, which allowed her to master drawing and applied arts, she joined the Game Design course offered at ETPA.
Her 3 years of training within the school enabled her to professionalize and develop her network. Thus she gets an internship at Chucklefish, a small independent studio in London. The managers believe in her, allow her to prove her worth, and give her the opportunity to sign her first contract as an artist on Starbound.
Working in a small structure also has advantages, including the ability to be involved in all aspects of a project: she specializes as an artist designer, and handles programming and level design.
Today, she also represents the studio abroad: after Minecon, she is planning a trip to San Francisco for the GDC (Game Developer Conference), one of the largest gatherings of developers in the world.
In an often very masculine environment, she's doing very well in the game... at only 23 years old!
